Ashta Nayika - Heroines and Emotions

Ashta-Nayika is a collective term described by Bharata in his Sanskrit treatise on performing arts - Natya Shastra (200 BCE - 200 CE). The eight Nayikas describe eight different emotions relating to their hero or Nayaka.
